Nina starts a row with Peter after he and Ester seduce one of her disc jockeys into working at Royal; Gustaf and Bellan persuade Nina to meet with Calle; after some persuasion, Maggan joins Lilly on a visit to an illegal gay nightclub.

John and the left-wing group are short of money, and they decide to steal wallets from rich clients at Ninas; the newspapers catch wind that city commissioner Maggan has been to an illegal club.

Christina goes to see Uno and confronts him about spying on John and her and the others; John and the left-wing group know that the police are on their trail; money disappears from the daily takings at Ninas.

In 1971, Uno is contacted by Ivar Strid, his old boss at IB, who tells him that they've managed to trace the left-wing group; Gustaf surprises Nina when he returns from Africa, where he and the family have been living as missionaries for some years.
The Elms

Calle calls the producer supplier and finds out he hasn't been paid; John and the left-wing group plan an attack on an international conference to be held in Stockholm in a few weeks.

Ninas is under desperate financial pressure, and claimants have started to turn to the bailiffs; Astrid grows weaker and calls Gustaf to her side because she wants to tell him something before she dies.
A distressing event causes the Löwander family matriarch, Helga, to make a new attempt to reunite the family, but Gustaf is still hurt and simply not interested; Peter's wife Ester feels unfairly left out of the running of the restaurant.
Angelo starts as a dishwasher at Restaurant DK and finds the first 24 hours rough; Helga, Peter, and Nina try to persuade Gustaf not to sell his shares in the restaurant, but Gustaf wants to be free from the family and invest in a new place.
Henriette Winter is a new partner in the restaurant and Peter and Ester are trying to find a way to get rid of her; Backe is feeling his age and is becoming increasingly paranoid, upsetting the entire kitchen staff.
After the Oscarshof incident, Gustaf is missing; fears spread that he might have taken his own life; Henriette Winter decides to sell her share in the restaurant and Peter and Nina are fighting about who should buy it. Helga is forced pick sides.
Peter agonizes over whether or not he should leave his family and the restaurant in order to live with the love of his life, Suzanne; Angelo resigns from DK, but he does not want to give any reasons why; Calle receives an offer to create a TV show.
Calle and Nina have been doing their television program for five years and their relationship is strained from working two jobs; Ragnarsson is back on the scene and wants to resume his work supplying DK with dishwashers but Peter rejects his offer.
Helga has a stroke and her family fears the worst; Peter and Esther are worried about what will happen to DK if Helga passes away and begins to make secret arrangements; The Social Democrats unite at DK to watch the election results to come in.
Peter and Ester destroy Helga's will after learning that Helga left the running of the restaurant to Nina; Stickan wants to cook the food for Helga's funeral service, but Calle is not convinced Stickan can handle it; Nina and Calle reconcile.
Calle prepares meals and finger food for the guests at an event hosted by Nina; while Peter and Gustaf continue their argument, more dissatisfied employees are joining the union.
